How did you develop an interest for carp fishing?
Fishing in general started with my grandfather, at the age of 10 years old. But the interest in carp increased by some guys at school. The first couple of years of carp angling was done with bread and telescopic rods for trout fishing. Since 1997-1998 I’ve started to buy more modern carp gear like better rods, optonics, and from then on, no carp in my region was safe.
Elaborate on your type of angling, your angling style.
1 rule: far from other people. I like to fish a lake for 1 or 2 seasons, until my goal is reached, and then move on to the next lake or venue. The choice of those lakes does not depend on distance or comfort, but on quietness, the stock of carp, hardness and I prefer to choose venues with not much background, I like to make the first footprints and following other anglers is just a waste of time. Walking behind will not make you any different as anyone else. But I like to be different. I prefer I’m the one that has to be followed.
What is the most memorable angling moment thus far?
Not possible to answer this. I have to write a book to tell about all the stories and catches that will last in my brain ‘till the last day I live.
Reliability and because developing is made by anglers, for anglers. NTEC offers everything which is needed to build efficient rigs, without making compromises to their quality.
Do you engage in other activities regarding carp angling?
